Patna High Court in a case regarding payment of family pension to the widow of the deceased employee ordered to pay the pension to her within two weeks of the order. Late B. N. Pandey was appointed as the Supply Inspector in the Food and Consumer Protection Department of the Bihar Government in 1985 and he retired from the services of Bihar Government in 2013 as a District Supply Officer. He died in an accident in the year 2021. He was regularly paid the pension till his death. After his death, his widow applied for the family pension but she was not paid the same on the ground that her date of birth in the pension payment order was different from her date of birth in the aadhar card. She was running from pillar to post but was not paid the pension. Aggrieved by this the widow of the deceased employee filed a Writ Petition before the Patna High Court. Hon'ble Mr. Justice Purnendu Singh on 8th September, 2023 ordered the Accountant General (Bihar) to ensure that the petitioner is paid the family pension regularly.
