Khushi Roy
Khushi Roy, a fourth year law student from the Amity Law School, Amity University, Patna filed a complaint before the National Human Rights Commission, Delhi regarding custodial death of a man belonging to Scheduled Caste community in PMCH , Patna. Ram Krishna Nagar Police Station arrested Sunil Manjhi in a case concerning Ramkrishna Nagar PS case no. 447 of 2022 dated 22.08.2022 under the allegations of Section 30 (a) of the Bihar Excise Act. He was beaten up in the Police Station and subsequently in the Beur Jail mercilessly by the Police Officers. As a result he died. This is a case of custodial death. She has prayed for immediate investigation of this case by the NHRC and also, to direct the Chief Secretary of the state of Bihar to pay compensation to the family members of the deceased.
