In a major move upon the issue of demand of fees from the students amid pandemic, on 15th September, 2020, Hon’ble Patna High Court directed the Central University of South Bihar to not to take any action on any student upon non-payment of fees. The Court issued notice to the University and further directed it to file its reply within two weeks.
Hon’ble Chief Justice of the Patna High Court ordered,
“…In the meanwhile, we direct that no adverse action be taken against any one of the students solely on account of the non-payment of fees.”
Advocate Vishal Kumar Singh who appeared on behalf of the petitioner CUSB Alumni Association said that it is illogical on the part of University to charge ancillary charges apart from the academic fees in such a grave situation. Government Institutions can’t act like money minting agencies.
